Preparing For Release can be offered when at least eight inmates that are within twelve months of being released and a family member is able to participate with them in two of the four sessions, a class will be scheduled.

You mention family member in the singular, why?

Preparing For Release provides for safe dialogue between inmate and family member to look objectively at what obsticals and benefits await the family environment upon release.  The size and space allocations do not permit more than one family member.

How much does the program cost?

Preparing For Release has no cost to the inmate or the family member.  Each inmate and family member receive a workbook.  Each workbook costs $14.00 which is paid by the institution.  Travel and other expenses for the volunteer leaders are not charged to the program.
