Where is Preparing For Release being
taught?
Preparing For Release has or will be
taught at the following places:
Mission Creek Corrections Center for Women
Cedar Creek Corrections Center
McNeil Island Corrections Center
Olympic Corrections Center
How does one sign up for Preparing For Release?
Preparing For Release is coordinated
through the institutional Community Partnership Program Coordinator. To sign up for Preparing
For Release is to contact the CPPC at the specific institution.
How often is Preparing For Release
offered?
Preparing For Release can be offered
when at least eight inmates that are within twelve months of being released and a family
member is able to participate with them in two of the four sessions, a class will be
scheduled.
You mention family member in the singular, why?
Preparing For Release provides for safe
dialogue between inmate and family member to look objectively at what obsticals and
benefits await the family environment upon release. The size and space allocations
do not permit more than one family member.
How much does the program cost?
Preparing For Release has no cost to
the inmate or the family member. Each inmate and family member receive a
workbook. Each workbook costs $12.00 which is paid by the institution. Travel
and other expenses for the volunteer leaders are not charged to the program.
